Mumbai Water Cut Alert: BMC To Halt Supply For 30 Hours, See If Your Area Is Affected
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will be laying a new 2,400 mm diameter water pipe between the Powai Anchor Block and Maroshi Water Tunnel, starting at 11 am on Wednesday, February 5, according to a Hindustan Times (HT) report. The work is expected to continue for 30 hours, concluding at 5 pm on Thursday, February 6. During this period, water supply from the two 1,800 mm diameter pipes from Tansa and West will be halted, leading to water cuts across various areas of the city.
On Wednesday, areas affected include parts of Kurla such as Kajupada, Navpada, and Maharashtra Kata, as well as areas in Dharavi, including Dharavi Main Marg and A.K.G. Nagar. In Andheri East, the water cut will impact Marol, Gavdevi, and Church Road. Bhandup, including parts of Pratap Nagar and Sonapur Junction, will also face disruption.

On Thursday, Bhandup West, including Pratap Nagar Road and areas near Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg, will be affected. Other parts of Kurla and Ghatkopar, such as 90 Feet Road and Saki Vihar Marg, will also experience a water cut, along with parts of Dharavi, including Jasmine Mile Marg and 60 Feet Marg. Andheri East areas like Kanti Nagar, Marol, and Chakala will also be without water, as well as parts of Bandra East, including Behram Pada and Kherwadi Service Road.
Several areas will face water cuts on both days. These include parts of Bhandup, Andheri East, and Bandra East, such as MIDC, SEEPZ, and Bandra Terminus.
The BMC has also warned that water may appear muddy for a few days after the new pipe is installed. Residents are advised to boil the water before use during this period.
