Mumbai Traffic Police Advisory: Road Closures, Parking Bans—Check Routes To Avoid On Maharashtra Day

Mumbai is preparing to celebrate Maharashtra Day on May 1, which marks the formation of the state of Maharashtra in 1960. To ensure smooth movement during the celebrations, the Mumbai Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory for the Maharashtra Day Parade at Shivaji Park in Dadar.

The parade will take place on the morning of May 1. To manage the event and avoid traffic problems, several traffic changes will be in place between 6 am and 12 pm on that day.

The following roads will be completely shut for all vehicles:

  • Keluskar Road South
  • Keluskar Road North

Mumbai Traffic Police Advisory: One-Way Traffic And Restricted Entry

  • SK Bole Road will be one-way from Siddhivinayak Junction to Portuguese Church Junction.
  • Vehicles cannot enter from Siddhivinayak Junction to Yes Bank Junction on Swatantraveer Savarkar Road.
  • Vehicles heading to South Mumbai from Yes Bank Junction must take a left turn and travel via Pandurang Naik Road.

Mumbai Traffic Police Advisory: No Parking Zones

The following roads will have no parking allowed:

  • Keluskar Road South and North
  • Pandurang Naik Road
  • NC Kelkar Road (from Gadkari Chowk to Kotwal Garden)
  • People without official car passes are requested to park at Kohinoor Parking.

Mumbai Traffic Police Advisory: Special Instructions For Invitees

The advisory also provides directions for people attending the parade:

  • Invitees coming from South and Central Mumbai should use the Tilak Flyover to reach Shivaji Park.
  • Those coming from South Mumbai should take Dr. Annie Besant Road.
  • Invitees from the Western Suburbs can take three routes via the Mahim Old Cadel Road.
