Mumbai Traffic Advisory: Road Closures Announced for PM Modi’s Shivaji Park Rally – Avoid These Roads
As Mumbai braces for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rally at Shivaji Park, Dadar, on the 14th of November, the city's traffic police have rolled out extensive traffic management plans. This move comes as Maharashtra prepares for the assembly elections, with political parties ramping up their campaigns. The Prime is scheduled to speak at SP College Ground in the evening, necessitating significant traffic adjustments to accommodate the influx of attendees and ensure public safety.

To facilitate the smooth conduct of this high-profile event, several roads in Mumbai will undergo traffic diversions, while others will be entirely closed off. The Mumbai Traffic Police outlined that these measures would be operational from 10 am to midnight on the day of the rally to manage the expected surge in vehicular and pedestrian traffic in and around Dadar. This initiative aims to minimize inconvenience and ensure that the rally does not disrupt the city's daily rhythm more than necessary.
Traffic Diversions and No Parking Zones Announced
In light of the anticipated disruptions, the Mumbai Traffic Police have declared specific roads as no-parking zones. These include SVS Road, N. C. Kelkar Road, T. H. Kataria Road, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Road, Tilak Road, Khan Abdul Gafarkhan Road, and Thadani Road, among others in the vicinity of Shivaji Park and the Dadar area. Additionally, vehicular movement will be closely monitored and redirected as needed on several key roads to prevent congestion and ensure a steady flow of traffic.
For northbound traffic along S.V.S. Road, detours will be in place from Siddhivinayak Junction to Yes Bank Junction, with alternative routes proposed via S. K. Bole Road and Portuguese Church. Similarly, southbound vehicles on S.V.S. Road will be rerouted from Dandekar Chowk to Pandurang Naik Marg and further along L. J. Road and N. C. Kelkar Road. These adjustments are designed to facilitate ease of movement around the rally site and minimize disruptions to local residents and commuters.
Advisories and Precautions for Commuters
The traffic police's advisory, shared on social media platforms, underscores the importance of planning travel in advance and being aware of the temporary traffic arrangements. Commuters are advised to avoid the affected areas if possible and to follow the specified detours and guidelines issued by the authorities. The overarching goal is to manage the traffic effectively during the Prime Minister's visit and the associated public meeting, ensuring safety and convenience for all.
