Mumbai Traffic Advisory: Check Routes To Avoid Given Angarki Sankashti Chathurthi At Siddhivinayak Temple
Angarki Chaturthi, falling on June 25, 2024, holds great religious significance for Hindus who observe Sankashti Chaturthi, also known as 'Angarki Sankashti Chaturthi'. It is a day when devotees fast and offer prayers to Lord Ganesha. According to the Hindu calendar, this observance occurs on the fourth day after the full moon, during the dark fortnight of the lunar month (Krishna Paksha). This day is particularly celebrated in Maharashtra, with special arrangements at Ganesha temples attracting a large number of worshippers.
On this occasion, Mumbai Traffic Police has announced road restrictions ahead of Angarki Sankashti Chaturthi, expected to draw a large number of devotees to Siddhivinayak temple in Prabhadevi today. This religious event is anticipated to impact vehicular movement significantly in Prabhadevi, Dadar, and Shivaji Park areas.

The Mumbai Traffic Police has advised motorists to plan their routes and adhere to diversions and alternative routes provided by authorities. The aim is to facilitate the smooth flow of traffic and ensure the safety of both worshippers and commuters alike. Commuters are encouraged to stay updated with real-time traffic updates and advisories from official channels and Mumbai Traffic Police.
Roads To Avoid
Several key roads in the vicinity of the Siddhivinayak temple will be affected, including SVS Road, SK Bole Road, Gokhale Road, Kakasaheb Gadgil Marg, Sayani Road, and Appasaheb Marathe Marg.
Specific Traffic Restrictions
Specific restrictions include no entry for vehicles on various sections of these roads, such as S.K. Bole Road from Gokhale Road and Shankar Ghanekar Road from Leningrad junction.
Temporary Traffic Restrictions Timings
Temporary traffic restrictions will be enforced from 6:00 AM to midnight on June 25, 2024. These measures may be extended as necessary to ensure the safety and manage the influx of devotees during the festivities.
