Mumbai: Salesman molests British woman, nabbed later

Mumbai, Oct 22: Incidents of women being molested and sexually harassed refuse to die in Mumbai, with another incident emerging where a

national was molested by a salesman.

The incident took place on Monday night, when the victim, was returning to an auto after packing food from an eatery . "The 26-year-old victim, along with her friends had just sat in an autorickshaw when the accused Gaurav Gupta touched her inappropriately," said Nasir Pathan, a senior inspector at the Oshiwara police station.

The woman then immediately raised an alarm, which was heard by some costables who were on duty near a mall here.

Victim works as an extra in Hindi movies

Two of the constables then ran behind the accused, who had fled after the victim raised an alarm. The accused was nabbed after the constables chased him for a distance.

Gupta was then brought to the Oshiwara police station and was booked under IPC Section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty).

The victim has been living in the city for about a year now and works as an extra in Bollywood films.
