Mumbai Metro Line 9 Integration: Train Timings on Lines 2A and 7 Changed, Check Full Schedule

The Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Limited (MMMOCL) has announced temporary changes in the operational timings of train services on Mumbai Metro Line 2A (Dahisar East - Andheri West) and Line 7 (Gundavali - Ovaripada) from 12th October 2025 to 18th October 2025. The revisions aim to facilitate the integration of Metro Line 7 with the upcoming Line 9 Phase-I section, ensuring smooth and seamless travel between Andheri and Mira Bhayander.

According to MMMOCL, these modifications are necessary to carry out final system integration and safety trials between Metro Line 7 (Gundavali - Ovaripada) and the upcoming Line 9 Phase-I section (Dahisar East - Kashi Gaon), which is part of the Red Line extension. Currently, Metro Line 7 operates between Gundavali and Ovaripada, covering 13 stations. With Line 9 nearing completion, critical activities including Independent Safety Assessor (ISA) testing, trial runs, and commissioning are in progress. Notably, the Research Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO) inspection for the Line 9 Phase-I section was successfully completed on 23rd September 2025.

"To ensure complete system integration, safety compliance, and a smooth commissioning process, MMMOCL will conduct trial runs between Gundavali and Kashi Gaon during this period," an official said. "As a result, the train operation timings on Metro Lines 2A and 7, which usually start at 5:25 a.m., will be temporarily revised."

Commuters are advised to check updated schedules on the Mumbai 1 App, official MMMOCL social media handles, and station display boards before planning their travel. MMMOCL expressed gratitude to all passengers for their cooperation during this crucial stage of Mumbai Metro's expansion, emphasizing that these trials represent a significant milestone toward the commissioning of Metro Line 9 (Phase-I). Once operational, the new line will offer direct and seamless connectivity from Gundavali to Mira Gaon, improving commute convenience across the western suburbs.
