Mumbai Local Train Services Mega Block: Delays And Cancellations Across Key Routes This Sunday; Check Inside
Central Railway's Mumbai Division has scheduled a significant Mega Block on Sunday, January 19, for essential engineering and maintenance activities on its suburban network. These works will affect several train services, including temporary service suspensions and modifications to train schedules.
Mumbai Local Train Services: Mega Block
Matunga-Mulund (UP and DN Fast Lines)
Maintenance work will be carried out on the UP and DN fast lines between Matunga and Mulund from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm.
DN Fast Line Services:
Trains departing Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) between 10:58 am and 3:10 pm will be diverted onto the DN slow line at Matunga. These trains will stop at all scheduled slow line stations between Matunga and Mulund. They will rejoin the DN fast line at Mulund and are expected to be about 15 minutes delayed in reaching their destinations.
UP Fast Line Services:
Trains departing Thane between 11:25 am and 3:27 pm will be diverted onto the UP slow line at Mulund. These trains will halt at all scheduled slow line stations between Mulund and Matunga, before rejoining the UP fast line at Matunga. Passengers should expect delays of approximately 15 minutes.
Trans-Harbour Line (Thane-Vashi/Nerul)
Maintenance work on the Trans-Harbour Line will be carried out between 11:10 am and 4:10 pm.
During this period, all UP and DN Trans-Harbour Line services between Thane and Vashi/Nerul will be suspended.
Mumbai Local Train Services Cancelled
DN line services from Thane to Vashi/Nerul/Panvel, scheduled between 10:35 am and 4:07 pm, will be cancelled.
UP line services from Panvel/Nerul/Vashi to Thane, scheduled between 10:25 am and 4:09 pm, will also be cancelled.
Advisory For Passengers
Passengers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly, as these maintenance works are crucial for ensuring the safety and reliability of the infrastructure. The Railway Administration acknowledges the inconvenience caused by the disruptions but emphasises the necessity of these operations for the overall improvement of the railway system.
The administration urges passengers to cooperate during the Mega Block to help ensure a safer and more efficient railway experience in the future.
