Mumbai Hit-And-Run: Shiv Sena Leader Detained After Son's BMW Mows Down Woman
The Mumbai Police confirmed on Sunday that the speeding BMW, which collided with a two-wheeler carrying a couple in Worli, belongs to a political leader from Palghar.
According to the Worli Police, Mihir Shah, the son of Shiv Sena politician Rajesh Shah, and Rajrishi Bidawar, who is in his early 30s, were allegedly present in the high-end car at the time of the incident.

The tragic accident claimed the life of 45-year-old Kaveri Nakhwa, a resident of Worli Koliwada. Kaveri was riding pillion on the two-wheeler with her husband when the luxury car struck them.
Her husband was injured and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital. The incident occurred at 5:30 am near Atria Mall in Worli. The husband's quick reaction allowed him to jump off the bike, but Kaveri was tragically dragged by the car for 100 meters, which resulted in severe injuries. She succumbed to her injuries during treatment.
After the crash, the accused fled the scene with the car, according to NDTV.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed his condolences and said, "The Mumbai hit-and-run case that has happened is very unfortunate. I had a conversation with the police. Whoever is guilty, action will be taken against them...We treat everyone equally. Whatever happens will be legal."
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aditya Thackeray visited the Worli police station to speak with senior officials handling the investigation.
He said, "I will not go into the political leanings of Shah, the accused of the hit and run, but I hope the police will act swiftly to catch the accused and bring him to justice. Hopefully there will be no political refuge by the regime. MLC Sunil Shinde ji and I also met Nakwa, the husband of the victim and promised him that we will do everything to bring the accused to justice."
