Mumbai Civic Body Takes Action Against Dhurandhar Makers

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has taken a tough stand against filmmaker Aditya Dhar's production banner B62 Productions, moving to blacklist the company after alleged safety lapses during the Mumbai shoot of Dhurandhar: The Revenge.

Civic officials said the action was triggered by repeated violations of filming conditions, particularly the unauthorised use of fire props. The decision will result in B62 Productions losing access to online shooting permissions, forfeiting its security deposit, and paying a monetary fine.

The issue reportedly began after a local resident complained about fire torches being used on set. Following the complaint, BMC officials inspected the location and issued an on-the-spot verbal warning to the crew to immediately stop using fire during filming. Despite this, police later seized five fire torches from the site, strengthening the case against the production.

After the inspection, the BMC's maintenance department prepared a proposal note recommending strict action against all parties linked to the filming permission. This included the applicants who had signed safety undertakings-Komal Pokhariyal and Nasir Khan-as well as B62 Productions, which was associated with the application.

As per the proposal, the Rs 25,000 security deposit submitted through the online permission portal will be forfeited. Additionally, the civic body has proposed a Rs 1 lakh penalty for breaching the no-fire undertaking. The production house and the two applicants are also set to be blacklisted from accessing the Maharashtra Film City online permission system, limiting their ability to secure official shooting locations.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is scheduled for release on March 19. The film features Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, Danish Pandor and Sara Arjun in prominent roles. The film follows Dhurandhar, which released in December 2025 and enjoyed a strong box-office run.

With promotions continuing and expectations high ahead of release, the BMC's decision has cast a spotlight on on-set safety compliance, even as the film prepares for its theatrical debut.
