Mumbai Bomb Threat: City On High Alert As Anonymous Call Warns Of Explosives At 6 Locations
The city of Mumbai was put on high alert on Tuesday after the Mumbai Traffic Police Control Room received a threat message claiming bombs had been placed at six locations across the city. The message, from an unknown individual, sent shockwaves through the metropolis, prompting immediate action from law enforcement agencies.
The Mumbai Police, renowned for their efficiency and quick response, have taken the threat seriously and are actively engaged in investigating the matter. Specialized units, including bomb disposal squads and anti-terrorism forces, have been mobilized to assess the credibility of the threat and secure the potentially targeted areas.

In December 2023, Mumbai was plunged into panic when bomb threats aimed at three major financial institutions-Reserve Bank of India (RBI), HDFC Bank, and ICICI Bank-prompted a comprehensive city-wide security operation.
Emails demanding the resignations of RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman were received just before 11 locations across Mumbai were flagged as potential targets for detonation at 1:30 PM.
The Mumbai Police Crime Branch had arrested three people in Gujarat for sending a threatening email to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), HDFC Bank and other private lenders.
The bomb threat email raised concerns among security officials, leading to an extensive investigation at the specified locations. Despite thorough searches, the police found nothing suspicious. A case was filed against the sender of the email, initiating a formal investigation.
