Mumbai BMW Hit-And-Run Case: Sai Prasad Bar's Licence Suspended Amid Investigation

In the latest development in the Mumbai BMW Hit-And-Run case, the licence of Sai Prasad Bar in Malad has been temporarily suspended by the Maharashtra Excise Department until further notice. This bar is under scrutiny for allegedly serving four beer cans to the prime accused, Mihir Shah, beyond the permitted time limit.

Shah was driving the BMW that hit a two-wheeler from the rear in Mumbai's Worli area, resulting in the death of Kaveri Nakhwa. Shah has admitted to driving the BMW at the time of the accident. The car was initially driven by Shah's driver, Rajrishi Bidawat from Borivali to Marine Drive, after which Shah took over, driving from Girgaon to the Worli Sea Link landing point.

Investigations reveal that Shah consumed four cans of beer after ordering 12 pegs of Jack Daniels at Juhu's Vice-Global Tapas Bar. The authorities have stated that the licence of the Malad bar has been suspended for allegedly serving beer to Shah beyond the permitted hours, just before the accident occurred. According to regulations, such establishments must close by 1:30 am.

Bar Suspected Of Deleting Footage

The police have reported that the management of the Malad bar has failed to provide CCTV footage from the past two months. An official notice was issued to the bar requesting the footage following the accident. The police suspect that the bar management might have deleted the footage out of fear.

Demolition Of Juhu Bar

Authorities have also taken action against Juhu's Vice-Global Tapas Bar, demolishing a portion of the establishment after the incident. Shah and his friends visited this bar, where they ordered 12 pegs of Jack Daniels Whiskey.

The demolition was carried out because the bar served liquor to an underage person and lacked a proper licence. Only the illegally constructed portion of the bar was demolished, in accordance with the Bombay Foreign Liquor Rules, as stated by the authorities.
