Hours after a speeding BMW struck and killed a woman in Mumbai's Worli, police apprehended the second person present in the car during the incident. The alleged driver, Mihir Shah, remains at large.

A woman lost her life on Sunday morning in Mumbai's Worli area when her two-wheeler was hit by a BMW, according to authorities. The vehicle was reportedly driven by Mihir Shah, the son of a leader from CM Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena.

Mumbai BMW Accident Updates

Six police teams have been deployed to locate Mihir Shah, who is still missing, as per the Worli Police. They recovered and confiscated the BMW from Bandra. Preliminary findings suggest that Shah was driving at the time of the accident.

The incident occurred around 5:30 am on Annie Besant Road. Kaveri Nakhwa, 45, was riding with her husband Pradip when the luxury car lost control. Kaveri fell onto the road and was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital. Her husband received treatment and was later discharged.

Authorities are yet to determine if Shah was under the influence of alcohol during the crash. They plan to conduct medical tests and collect blood samples for further investigation.

Legal Proceedings and Political Reactions

A case has been filed based on Pradeep Nakhawa's statement under various sections of the BNS and Motor Vehicle Act, including Sections 105, 281, 125(b), 238, 324(4), 184, 134(a), 134(b), and 187. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde assured that the law would be applied equally in this case involving a BMW car that resulted in a woman's death.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and local MLA Aaditya Thackeray commented on the situation without addressing Shah's political affiliations but expressed hope that "there will be no political refuge by the regime."

According to investigations, Shah and his companion Bidawat were returning home from a long drive at Marine Drive when the accident occurred. The police continue their search for Shah while examining all aspects of this tragic event.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work diligently to bring justice to Kaveri Nakhwa's family. The community watches closely as developments unfold in this high-profile case.
