Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Update: Mumbai-Ahmedabad Corridor’s Gujarat Stations Almost Ready – All Details

The Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) corridor, popularly known as the Bullet Train project, is making steady progress, with the Ministry of Railways confirming that station development work in Gujarat is close to completion.

In its latest update shared on Thursday, Indian Railways highlighted that the stations along the corridor are nearing readiness. Designed with modern architecture, cultural integration, eco-friendly features, and seamless connectivity, these stations are expected to set new benchmarks in passenger comfort and travel standards across India.

"The Bullet Train stations on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad corridor in Gujarat are nearing completion. With modern design, cultural identity, seamless connectivity, and eco-friendly features, the stations will redefine passenger comfort and set new benchmarks in travel," the Ministry of Railways posted on X.

Adding to this milestone, the project has completed the construction of a major bridge over the Vishwamitri River in Vadodara district. The 80-metre-long structure, located beside the Vadodara-Surat main line of Western Railways, consists of three piers-one within the river stream and two on either bank. This is the 17th of the 21 planned river bridges in Gujarat, while another four bridges are set to be built in Maharashtra.

The Vishwamitri River itself intersects the Bullet Train alignment at nine different locations in and around Vadodara. Of these crossings, three have already been completed, while work on the remaining ones continues. Due to Vadodara's dense urban landscape, the construction required detailed planning and close coordination with the Vadodara Municipal Corporation and other authorities to ensure timely progress.

Once operational, the 508-kilometre Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train corridor, covering both Gujarat and Maharashtra, is expected to transform long-distance travel in India by providing world-class high-speed connectivity.
