MNS Candidate List For Maharashtra Elections 2024, Ditches Alliances
The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has announced a list of 45 candidates for the November 20 Maharashtra assembly polls. MNS chief Raj Thackeray announced these names during his tour across Maharashtra, emphasizing the party's commitment to contesting the elections independently, without forming any alliances.
Thackeray, who previously endorsed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's candidacy for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and campaigned for candidates within the BJP-led Mahayuti coalition, expressed that MNS intends to compete for more seats than any other party in the Assembly polls.

The announced candidates are:
Thackeray, who founded the MNS after parting ways with the undivided Shiv Sena in 2006, initially supported Modi's Prime Ministerial bid in 2014. However, he later became a prominent critic, frequently pointing out the unfulfilled promises made by Modi during his rallies.
In the previous two Assembly elections, held in 2014 and 2019, MNS secured only one seat each. The elections in Maharashtra will take place in a single phase on November 20, with the counting of votes scheduled for November 23.
The political landscape includes the ruling Mahayuti coalition, which consists of the BJP, the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, and Ajit Pawar's NCP, alongside the opposition bloc, Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVS), which features Congress, Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena (UBT), and Sharad Pawar's NCP (SP).
