Maharashtra Weather Today: IMD Predicts Moderate Rainfall In Mumbai; Issues Yellow Alert In Other Regions
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts light to moderate rainfall in Mumbai today. The city will experience temperatures ranging from a minimum of 27 degrees Celsius to a maximum of 34 degrees Celsius.
Mumbai Weather Forecast

The IMD provides the following weather forecast for Mumbai over the next five days:
On July 5, temperatures are expected to range between 26 and 32 degrees Celsius under a cloudy sky, with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers anticipated.
On July 6, the minimum temperature will be around 24 degrees Celsius, and the maximum will reach 30 degrees Celsius. The sky will remain cloudy with moderate downpours.
On July 7, the minimum temperature will stay at 24 degrees Celsius, with the maximum temperature at 30 degrees Celsius. The day will feature moderate rain.
On July 8, the weather conditions will be similar to those of July 7, with rain expected.
On July 9, the minimum temperature is expected to be 25 degrees Celsius, and the maximum will be 31 degrees Celsius, accompanied by rain.
IMD Issues Yellow Alert
The IMD issues yellow alerts for several districts across Maharashtra. Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg are expected to receive heavy rainfall in isolated places.
Additionally, yellow alerts are issued for Pune, Kolhapur, and Satara, where heavy rainfall is anticipated in isolated places within the ghat areas.
Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds, with speeds reaching 30 to 40 kilometres per hour, are expected in Akola, Amravati, Bhandara, Buldhana, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Nagpur, Wardha, Washim, and Yavatmal. Thus, these regions are also under the yellow alert.
Maharashtra Monsoon Update
The IMD predicts that there is a possibility of more than average rainfall in most parts of Maharashtra. The 'El Nino' condition may remain neutral in the initial phase. But in the second phase of monsoon i.e. in July or August, 'La Nina' condition is likely to occur. The Meteorological Department has clarified that the La Nina conditions are favourable for this year's monsoon in the country.
