Maharashtra Weather Alert: Mumbai Receives Yellow Alert From IMD; Check Other Regions' Forecasts For July 1
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Mumbai today, forecasting heavy rainfall in isolated areas.
Today's weather outlook includes a minimum temperature of 25 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 30 degrees Celsius, under a cloudy sky with heavy rain expected.

Mumbai Weather Forecast
June in Mumbai is typically characterised by high temperatures ranging from 28 degrees Celsius to 31 degrees Celsius. The month sees frequent rainfall, with an average of 15 to 22 rainy days, consistent with the city's tropical monsoon climate. This period of heavy precipitation is expected to continue, providing both relief and challenges to the residents of Mumbai.
The IMD provides the following weather forecast for Mumbai over the next five days:
On July 2, expect a minimum temperature of 25 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 30 degrees Celsius with a cloudy sky and moderate rain.
Moving to July 3, temperatures will range from a low of 24 degrees Celsius to a high of 31 degrees Celsius. The sky will remain cloudy with moderate rain showers likely.
July 4 will see a minimum temperature of 24 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 30 degrees Celsius, accompanied by rain throughout the day.
On July 5, temperatures will range between 23 degrees Celsius and 29 degrees Celsius with continuous rainfall expected.
Looking ahead to July 6, temperatures will rise to approximately 27.95 degrees Celsius with a return to moderate rain.
Maharashtra Weather Forecast
The IMD predicts that there is a possibility of more than average rainfall in most parts of Maharashtra. The 'El Nino' condition may remain neutral in the initial phase. But in the second phase of monsoon i.e. in July or August, 'La Nina' condition is likely to occur. The Meteorological Department has clarified that the La Nina conditions are favourable for this year's monsoon in the country.
i. IMD Issues Yellow Alert
The IMD issues yellow alerts for several districts across Maharashtra. In Palghar, Thane, Dhule, Nandurbar, Nasik, and Kolhapur, heavy rainfall is expected at isolated locations, prompting cautionary measures.
Furthermore, yellow alerts are issued for Akola, Amravati, Bhandara, Buldhana, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Nagpur, Wardha, Washim, and Yavatmal. These areas may experience thunderstorms with isolated occurrences of lightning.
ii. IMD Issues Orange Alert
Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Pune, and Satara are currently under an orange alert. These regions are expected to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall, particularly in ghat areas and isolated places.
Monsoon Update
The Southwest Monsoon has advanced into more parts of East and West Uttar Pradesh. It currently extends from Jaisalmer and Churu to Delhi, Aligarh, and beyond. Favourable conditions are expected for its further progress into parts of West Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, West Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu over the next two days.
Isolated thunderstorms have been reported in Gujarat. The monsoon has been active in North Konkan, with heavy rainfall in isolated areas of Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and Gujarat. Rainfall has also occurred across most of Konkan-Goa, many areas in Madhya Maharashtra, and some parts of Marathwada.
