Maharashtra Weather Alert: IMD Warns Of Heavy Rain; Mumbai Under Yellow, Pune Under Orange Alert
According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Mumbai's temperature today is expected to range between 26 degrees Celsius and 31 degrees Celsius. The IMD has issued a yellow alert, warning residents of heavy rain and cloudy skies throughout the day. The weather conditions may lead to some disruption, so people are advised to plan their activities accordingly and be prepared for potential rainfall.

Over the next few days, Mumbai will continue to experience wet and cloudy conditions. On 9 September, the temperature is predicted to range between 25 degrees Celsius and 30 degrees Celsius, with a generally cloudy sky and moderate rain expected. Similar conditions are forecast for 10 September, with the temperature remaining between 25 degrees Celsius and 30 degrees Celsius, accompanied by a cloudy sky and moderate rainfall.

On 11 September, the temperature will increase slightly, ranging between 26 degrees Celsius and 31 degrees Celsius. A generally cloudy sky with light rain is expected throughout the day. The rainy conditions will persist on 12 September, with the temperature ranging between 26 degrees Celsius and 31 degrees Celsius, and rain is likely to occur throughout the day. By 13 September, the temperature is expected to range between 25 degrees Celsius and 32 degrees Celsius, with continued rainfall.
Maharashtra Weather Update
Several regions across Maharashtra are also under weather alerts. An orange alert has been issued for the ghat areas, where heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected at isolated places. Moderate rain is predicted in the plains, including cities such as Pune and Satara, where residents should remain cautious.
In addition to Mumbai, several other cities are under a yellow alert. Heavy rainfall is forecast at isolated places in Palghar, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg. In the ghat regions of Nasik and Kolhapur, heavy rainfall is expected at isolated places, with light to moderate rain forecast for the plains.

Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are also expected at isolated locations in Akola, Amravati, Bhandara, Buldhana, Nagpur, Wardha, Washim, and Yavatmal. These areas should be on alert for potential lightning strikes and stormy conditions.
Furthermore, heavy rainfall combined with thunderstorms and lightning is forecast for Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, and Gondia. Residents of these areas are advised to take precautions and stay informed about changing weather conditions.
