Maharashtra Weather Alert: IMD Issues Yellow Alert For Mumbai, Orange Alert For Others

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issues a Yellow Alert for Mumbai, indicating a forecast of cloudy skies with moderate rainfall. Today, Mumbaikars can expect temperatures ranging from a minimum of 26 degrees Celsius to a maximum of 31 degrees Celsius.

July 7: The minimum temperature will be 26 degrees Celsius, and the maximum will reach 30 degrees Celsius. Expect cloudy skies with moderate showers.

July 8: Temperatures will range from a minimum of around 25 degrees Celsius to a maximum of 30 degrees Celsius. The cloudy sky will persist with moderate rainfall.

July 9: Anticipate a minimum temperature of 24 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 30 degrees Celsius. Cloudy skies will continue throughout the day with moderate rain.

July 10: The minimum temperature is expected to be 24 degrees Celsius, with a maximum reaching 31 degrees Celsius. Rainfall is likely throughout the day.

July 11: Temperatures will range with a minimum settling around 25 degrees Celsius and a maximum around 31 degrees Celsius. Rain is expected intermittently throughout the day.

IMD Issues Yellow Alert

The IMD issues yellow alerts for several districts across Maharashtra, including Palghar, Thane, and Raigad, where heavy rainfall is expected in isolated areas. Nasik will experience heavy rainfall in isolated ghat regions as well.

Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are forecasted for Amravati, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Nagpur, and Wardha, placing these regions under a yellow alert.

IMD Issues Orange Alert

In addition, an orange alert has been issued for Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Pune, Kolhapur, and Satara, where heavy to very heavy rainfall is anticipated in isolated ghat areas.

Maharashtra Monsoon Update

The IMD predicts that there is a possibility of more than average rainfall in most parts of Maharashtra. The 'El Nino' ​​condition may remain neutral in the initial phase. But in the second phase of monsoon i.e. in July or August, 'La Nina' condition is likely to occur. The Meteorological Department has clarified that the La Nina conditions are favourable for this year's monsoon in the country.
