Maharashtra Rains: Schools and Colleges Closed Today In Nagpur, IMD Issues Yellow Alert
Schools and colleges in Nagpur are closed today due to ongoing heavy rainfall, with more expected. This decision was made by District Collector Vipin Itankar on Tuesday night. The closure aims to ensure the safety of students and staff amid the adverse weather conditions.
"Due to continuous rain and the warning of more heavy rainfall, all educational institutions in the district will stay shut today," stated the official notice.

Nagpur city and its surrounding areas have been experiencing relentless rain for two consecutive days. On Tuesday evening, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert, which has since been downgraded to a yellow alert for Wednesday. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and moderate rainfall are anticipated in various parts of Nagpur, Gondia, and Bhandara.
The Sonegaon observatory reported 69.7 mm of rainfall over the past 24 hours until 8:30 pm on Tuesday. Of this total, 67.7 mm occurred during daylight hours.
