A tragic incident took place on Thursday at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, where part of an entry gate near Siddharth Garden collapsed. According to the reports, a woman lost her life, while two others got injured and receiving medical care at a government hospital. Reports said strong winds and rain was the cause behind the incident.
The victims were reportedly standing close to the gate when it suddenly fell, trapping them beneath. Municipal Commissioner G. A case will be registered against the officials concerned."

Commissioner Sreekanth also mentioned that all similar structures in the city would undergo a special audit within seven days to assess their safety. Based on these findings, decisions will be made regarding public access to such areas. Meanwhile, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Police Commissioner Pravin Pawar noted that legal proceedings would commence once a formal complaint is filed by municipal authorities.
"We are awaiting an official complaint from the municipal corporation," said Commissioner Pawar. "Once that is filed, we will proceed with registering a case and taking necessary legal action against those responsible." The incident has highlighted concerns about public infrastructure safety during monsoon seasons.
Additional Weather-Related Incident
On the same day, another weather-related accident occurred in Bhagatsingh Nagar where a woman was critically injured after a tree was uprooted and fell on her. She is currently being treated at a private hospital. The civic chief assured that further precautions would be implemented to prevent similar incidents amid unpredictable weather conditions.
