Maharashtra: Man Forces Wife To Have Sex With His Boss, She Refuses; Gives Triple Talaq

A man in Kalyan, Maharashtra, has been charged with using triple talaq to divorce his second wife. The 45-year-old, identified as Sohail Sheikh, allegedly took this step after she refused to have sex with his boss and failed to arrange Rs 15 lakh for his first wife. The incident has sparked outrage and legal action.

The couple got married in January 2024. Shortly after their marriage, Sohail reportedly expressed a desire to divorce his first wife, citing financial needs. He allegedly pressured his second wife to request Rs 15 lakh monthly from her parents to facilitate this divorce.

Allegations of Abuse and Divorce

When the woman refused these demands, Sohail asked her to engage in sexual relations with his boss at a party. Upon her refusal, he physically assaulted her and divorced her using triple talaq. Following this ordeal, the woman was forced to leave their home.

The woman lodged a complaint at a local police station on December 19. She reported both physical and mental abuse by Sohail. The authorities have confirmed that they are investigating these allegations thoroughly.

Police Investigation Underway

The Kalyan Superintendent of Police stated that a case had been registered at Sambhaji Nagar City Police Station before being transferred to Bazar Peth Police Station for further investigation. Despite the serious nature of the allegations, no arrests have been made so far.

In her complaint, the woman detailed the abuse she endured and the circumstances leading to her divorce through triple talaq. The police are also probing claims that she was coerced into sleeping with another man.
