Maharashtra Government's Rs 45,000 Crore Boost For Farmers

Over 1.5 years, Maharashtra has launched irrigation projects and schemes, including a stamp duty waiver on loans up to Rs 1.6 lakh, benefiting farmers.

The Maharashtra government, led by Eknath Shinde, has made several decisions to support farmers. Over the past one and a half years, the government has provided Rs 45,000 crore to farmers. During this period, 120 irrigation projects were started, which will irrigate 15 lakh hectares of land in the state.

Shinde stated that the government has helped farmers during natural calamities like heavy rains and hailstorms. He emphasized that since India is primarily an agricultural country, all schemes are designed with farmers in mind. Recently, CM Shinde announced the waiver of stamp duty on farmers' loans up to Rs 1.6 lakh.

Shinde also shared information about various state government schemes like the one-rupee crop insurance scheme and Jalyukt Shivar. The Chief Minister reiterated that the government stands firmly with the farmers. Agriculture Minister Dhananjay Munde said two districts in India have been selected for a project to digitize Kisan Credit Cards (KCC).

Beed district in Maharashtra is included in this project. Recently, departments like Revenue and Agriculture in Beed registered 4 lakh 75 thousand farmers and created their Kisan IDs. Two apps have been developed to make this process easier.

These apps allow farmers to apply for short-term loans without any documents from their homes. These IDs will also make it easier for them to apply for and avail other government schemes. This project is being implemented by "AgriStack-CPMU".

Munde said that digital tools will be used for agricultural development. He mentioned that this project will improve the lives of farmers significantly. He added that waiving stamp duty on loans up to Rs 1.6 lakh will greatly benefit crop loan takers.

The pilot project has been implemented in six districts across India, including Farrukhabad in Uttar Pradesh and Beed in Maharashtra. In Beed district, systems worked tirelessly to collect data from about 1 thousand 251 villages, creating Kisan IDs for about 4 lakh 75 thousand farmers.

This initiative aims to make it easier for farmers to access various government schemes and financial assistance. It ensures they receive the necessary support and resources for their farming activities on time.
