New Women Empowerment Schemes in Maharashtra

On Saturday, women from various sectors gathered at the Vidhan Bhavan complex to thank the government for its significant decisions benefiting women. They tied Rakhi on CM Shinde's wrist as a gesture of gratitude. During the event, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced that the Chief Minister Meri Pyari Behan Yojana would be implemented immediately, with benefits starting from July 1.

Under the Chief Minister Meri Pyari Behan Yojana, eligible mothers and sisters will receive Rs 1,500 per month. This scheme is expected to benefit over 2.5 crore women aged between 21 and 60 years. Additionally, the government has decided to launch the Annapurna scheme, which will provide three free cylinders annually to women.

The budget also includes a plan to make 25 lakh women millionaires. The capital for women's self-help groups has been increased from Rs 15,000 to Rs 30,000. Furthermore, assistance will be provided to 10,000 women for purchasing pink e-rickshaws.

The government has also decided to offer free education for girls up to higher education levels. Senior women have already been granted free travel up to 50 percent on State Transport (ST) buses. These measures have been well-received by the women of Maharashtra.

Women thanked the government for these decisions during their gathering at Vidhan Bhavan. They expressed their appreciation for the comprehensive support provided through these schemes.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde emphasised that these initiatives aim to ensure comprehensive development and empowerment of women in Maharashtra. He highlighted that economic independence and self-reliance are crucial for women's overall well-being.

The government's focus on health and nutrition is also evident in these schemes. By addressing various aspects of women's lives, the Mahayuti government aims to create a supportive environment for their growth and development.

Overall, these initiatives reflect the government's commitment to improving the lives of women in Maharashtra. The schemes are designed to provide financial support, educational opportunities, and better transportation facilities for women across the state.
