Maharashtra And World Bank Partner For Agricultural Resilience Through POCRA
The Government of Maharashtra is working on a long-term solution for farmers and the agriculture sector. The Nanaji Deshmukh Krishi Sanjeevani Pariyojana (POCRA) is a scheme by the Government of Maharashtra and the World Bank. It aims to develop drought-proofing and climate-resilient strategies.
POCRA was designed to boost agricultural productivity and sustainability. It addresses issues like water scarcity and soil degradation. However, many farmers have not yet benefited from the project’s initiatives.

The government plans to review the implementation strategies of the project. Improved monitoring and equitable distribution of funds can help POCRA succeed in its objectives. This can bring significant changes in agricultural practices in Maharashtra.
Farmers are looking forward to better support in the future. Reports indicate that Amravati, Akola, and Buldhana districts have received the most funds under this scheme. Farmers in these areas have benefited from it.
Now, the state government is focusing on extending the benefits of the scheme to farmers in other regions of the state.
