Kandivali Class Seven Student Reports Molestation By Teacher; Police Dive Into CCTV Footage For Clues
A teacher from a school in Kandivali has been accused of molesting an 11-year-old student. This incident, which occurred at the end of July was reported by the class seven student to the school principal on Wednesday. Following this, an FIR was lodged against the teacher.
The minor girl informed her principal that the male teacher had touched her inappropriately after class was dismissed in the last week of July. The principal notified the girl's parents, who subsequently approached the police. Based on the girl's statement, a case was registered under sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.

Police Investigation
Police officers have summoned the accused teacher to record his statement and will take further action once the charges are confirmed. "We have recorded the statements of the principal and the parents of the girl and are investigating the case further. We are also scanning through the CCTV footage of the school to find out whether the incident was captured and ascertain the veracity of the allegations," said a police officer from Kandivali police station.
The Kandivali police are diligently working on gathering all necessary evidence to ensure justice is served. They are examining CCTV footage from the school premises to verify if it captured any part of the alleged incident.
Similar Incidents
In a related incident in Pelhar, Vasai East, three days ago, a 14-year-old schoolgirl revealed that her English teacher had been raping her for three months. She also stated that he had been blackmailing her with threats to post her photos online to defame her.
A 3-year-old girl in Mumbai's Sakinaka area was allegedly raped by a minor. The accused, a class 9 student, has been arrested. The girl's father lodged a complaint, leading to the registration of a case under the POCSO. The Sakin Police confirmed that the accused will appear in court on Wednesday.
In Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, an Assistant Development Officer (ADO) from the Agriculture Department allegedly raped a 10-year-old girl inside her home. Additionally, he reportedly engaged in unnatural sex with a goat. A neighbour recorded the incident on camera. Following the crime, the girl's family filed a police complaint, resulting in the ADO's arrest.
Shobit Kumar, Shikarpur Circle Officer, stated, "A forensic team has collected samples, and the victim has been sent for medical examination. She is stable." This statement was reported by TOI.
Girls' Safety
As many as 63,414 POCSO cases were filed in 2022, according to the latest crime data published by the National Crime Records Bureau.
