The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert for several regions across Maharashtra, predicting significant rainfall and thunderstorms. Regions under the orange alert, which signifies heavy to very heavy rainfall, include Palghar, Thane, Raigad, and Ratnagiri. These coastal districts are likely to experience intense rainfall at isolated locations, with the possibility of waterlogging and disruptions in daily activities.

In the ghat areas of Pune and Satara, heavy to very heavy rainfall is also expected, particularly in the higher altitudes. The plains of these districts may experience moderate rain.
Further, districts in the Vidarbha region, including Amravati, Bhandara, Chandrapur, and Gondia, are also under the orange alert. These areas are expected to face heavy to very heavy rainfall, along with thunderstorms and lightning at isolated places.
In addition to the orange alert, the IMD has issued a yellow alert for other regions, indicating that while the weather conditions may be less severe, they still require caution. Sindhudurg is expected to experience heavy rainfall at isolated locations.
Districts including Dhule, Nandurbar, Parbhani, and Hingoli are likely to witness thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, light to moderate rainfall, and gusty winds with speeds ranging from 30 to 40 km/h. Lastly, the districts of Akola, Buldhana, Washim, and Yavatmal may experience thunderstorms with lightning at isolated places. Although the rainfall is expected to be lighter, the IMD has advised caution due to the potential for sudden thunderstorms.
