Mumbai Hit-And-Run: Speeding Car Rams Into Couple On Two-Wheeler, Woman Succumbs

A tragic hit-and-run case has again surfaced from Maharashtra, this time from in Mumbai.

The accident involving a BMW and a two-wheeler took place at 5:30 am on Sunday near Atria Mall, Worli. The high-end car, driven by Mihir, son of Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) leader Rajesh Shah, hit a couple riding on a scooter.

The couple belonged to the fishermen community and were returning from Sassoon Dock.

The couple, residents of the Koliwada area in Worli, had visited Sassoon Dock early in the morning to buy fish. As they were returning home, their scooter was hit from behind by a speeding white BMW sports car, causing severe injuries to both individuals.

Visuals shared by journalist Vivek Gupta on X show the aftermath of the crash, with the BMW's front end and the scooter's rear badly damaged, highlighting the impact of the collision.

Following the collision, the injured couple was rushed to Nair Hospital. Unfortunately, the wife succumbed to her injuries, while the husband remains under medical supervision, dealing with severe injuries.

Involvement of a politician's son

According to reports from Marathi news portals and Times Now, the car was driven by Mihir, the son of Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) leader Rajesh Shah.

The Worli Police have seized the BMW involved in the incident, and Mihir has reportedly been detained.

A detailed investigation is currently underway. Senior Mumbai Police officials have arrived at the Worli Police Station, and the case is expected to be formally registered soon.
