Heavy Mumbai Rains: IMD Issues Yellow Alert Across Maharashtra; Check Complete Weather Forecast For Today

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts that Mumbai will experience a minimum temperature of 25 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 30 degrees Celsius, with cloudy skies and heavy rainfall expected.

July 10: The minimum temperature will be around 26 degrees Celsius, rising to a maximum of 31 degrees Celsius. Cloudy conditions will persist, with moderate rainfall expected.

July 11: Expect a minimum temperature of 25 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 30 degrees Celsius. Heavy rainfall is anticipated under cloudy skies.

July 12: Temperatures will range between 25 and 30 degrees Celsius. Heavy downpours are forecasted along with a cloudy sky.

July 13: The minimum temperature will be at 24 degrees Celsius, and the maximum will hover around 29 degrees Celsius. Rain is expected throughout the day.

July 14: The minimum temperature will be 24 degrees Celsius, and the maximum will be 29 degrees Celsius. Rain is forecasted.

IMD Issues Yellow Alert

The IMD issues weather alerts for multiple districts in Maharashtra, anticipating heavy rainfall and thunderstorms. A yellow alert has been issued for several areas including Palghar, Thane, and Raigad, where heavy rainfall is expected at isolated locations.

Additionally, districts like Dhule, Nandurbar, and Jalgaon among others may experience thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, along with light to moderate rainfall and gusty winds ranging from 30 to 40 kilometres per hour.

In ghat areas of Kolhapur, heavy rainfall is also predicted, while regions such as Akola, Amravati, and Nagpur could witness heavy rainfall and thunderstorms with lightning.

IMD Issues Orange Alert

Furthermore, an orange alert has been issued for Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Pune, and Satara districts, indicating a higher likelihood of heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places.

Residents are advised to stay informed about the latest weather updates and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety during this period of anticipated severe weather conditions.

Maharashtra Monsoon Update

The IMD predicts that there is a possibility of more than average rainfall in most parts of Maharashtra. The 'El Nino' ​​condition may remain neutral in the initial phase. But in the second phase of monsoon i.e. in July or August, 'La Nina' condition is likely to occur. The Meteorological Department has clarified that the La Nina conditions are favourable for this year's monsoon in the country.
