Eknath Shinde Faction Gains Ground As Uddhav Thackeray’s Candidate Bows Out of Race
With the Maharashtra Assembly elections on the horizon, political activity and strategies across the state are intensifying. In a surprising turn of events, a candidate announced by Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena has rejected the nomination, indicating intentions to join Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's faction. This development represents a significant blow to Thackeray's faction as it prepares for the electoral battle.

Key Developments in the Constituencies
The state is bracing for a fierce contest between the Mahayuti and the Mahavikas Aghadi, with all political parties ramping up their preparations. As candidates' lists are rolled out by the various factions, the Shiv Sena (Thackeray faction) has faced a notable setback in the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Central constituency. The recently announced candidate has withdrawn, paving the way for the Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) to officially enter the race.
Shinde's Candidate: Pradeep Jaiswal
Uddhav Thackeray, the leader of the Shiv Sena (Thackeray faction), had previously declared Kishanchand Tanwani as the candidate for the Sambhajinagar Central seat. In contrast, the Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) has put forward Pradeep Jaiswal to contest in the elections, intensifying the rivalry between the factions.
AIMIM's Naser Siddiqui Enters the Fray
All eyes are now on the All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) as it announces its candidate for this crucial constituency. AIMIM has confirmed Naser Siddiqui as its nominee, with party leader Asaduddin Owaisi making the announcement via a post on social media platform 'X.'
A triangular contest was anticipated in the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Central constituency, but Kishanchand Tanwani's withdrawal has altered the dynamics. He cited the political landscape akin to that of 2014, stating his decision was motivated by a desire to prevent the AIMIM candidate from gaining an advantage in the elections.
The abrupt exit of the announced candidate has dealt a serious blow to Uddhav Thackeray's faction. Sources indicate that Tanwani may soon align himself with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena, further complicating the electoral scenario in Maharashtra.
