Check Mumbai Weather: Mumbai Wakes To Cloudy Skies And Soaked Streets After Days Of Monsoon Rain
The city was greeted by a cloudy sky with roads and trees soaked in water following several days of continuous rain. Though the rain paused for a brief period, it is expected to persist in the city.
Just a month ago, Mumbaikars were contending with a scorching summer that prompted authorities to issue a heatwave alert.

However, the arrival of the monsoon has provided residents with relief from the oppressive heat and has significantly reduced the temperatures. The maximum temperature on Friday was recorded at 33.9 degrees Celsius, as reported by Times Now.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), a generally cloudy sky with light rain is forecasted for the city. This weather pattern is expected to continue through the weekend, with the city anticipating the onset of the next week under similar conditions of a cloudy sky with light rain or drizzle. The intensity of the rainfall is predicted to increase around June 18 and June 19.
A solo weather forecast from Mumbai Rains predicted that rain would be expected in Mumbai within the next hour. "It's a rainy morning, Mumbai! The city and its suburbs will experience rain in the next hour as several rainbands have developed from the West. Areas such as Bandra, Dadar, and Worli will be in the spotlight for the next hour, with rain expected to start from 7:20-7:30 AM."
Meanwhile, areas within the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) have experienced an intense spell of rain. Dombivli, Kalyan and their surrounding areas received heavy rain on Thursday for several hours. Within just one hour, Dombivli recorded 44 mm of rain, according to a solo forecast from Mumbai Rains, as reported by Times Now
With the advent of the rainy season, Mumbaikars have been enjoying the vibrant weather after the rain subsided, relishing their morning strolls and even train rides with the mild cool winds. Social media platforms have been abuzz with residents recommending friends to visit Lonavala, where waterfalls have started flowing with the arrival of the monsoon.
"Mumbaikars, it's time to go to Lonavala this weekend with friends or family since the monsoon has begun, and so have the waterfalls in Lonavala. The scene was shot by me today. 🎥 Beautiful," shared a solo forecast from Mumbai Nowcast, accompanied by a video of a waterfall.
