Mumbai Heats Up! Temperatures Set To Rise Again By 3-4°C
Cricket fans across India are buzzing with excitement as Mumbai Indians will take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) today! But beyond the on-field rivalry, there's another battle brewing - the weather war between the two metro cities. It must be noted that a week ago, Twitter users voiced their frustrations, highlighting a surprising trend: Bengaluru, traditionally known as the garden city, was experiencing higher temperatures than both Delhi and Mumbai. One user expressed disbelief, asking, "How is Bangalore hotter than Mumbai and Delhi?" However, the excitement was short lived as Mumbai is set to heat up, with temperatures expected to climb back up by 3-4°C.
Rain or Shine in Mumbai?

While Mumbai and Bengaluru often clash over their climates, today's forecast favors the cricket match. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts clear skies for Mumbai, perfect conditions for batsmen to rack up runs at Wankhede Stadium.
However, other parts of Maharashtra might not be so lucky. A combination of weather systems could bring rain to some areas.
According to the weather department, a cyclonic circulation has formed over Rajasthan, while multiple troughs extend from the state to Bangladesh and Karnataka. The interaction of these systems will bring rainy weather to some parts of Maharashtra in the coming days.
In line with these predictions, light to moderate rainfall is expected in some parts of Madhya Maharashtra from Thursday to Saturday (April 11-13). During this period, these areas could also experience thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds.
Furthermore, hailstorms may affect a few areas of Vidarbha until tomorrow (April 11-12) and Marathwada from Friday to Saturday (April 12-13).
Unfortunately for Mumbai, no precipitation is expected in the city. In fact, clear skies are forecast for most parts of the capital, which could be advantageous for the batsmen aiming to score more runs at Wankhede stadium today.
Although conditions are expected to become cloudier over the next few days, daytime temperatures are forecast to rise. In areas such as Borivali, Chembur, Colaba, Mulund, Santa Cruz, and Worli, maximum temperatures could increase by 3-4°C, reaching 36-37°C by Tuesday (April 16). This will be a degree higher than Bengaluru's highs during this time, which might disappoint Mumbaikars defending their weather choice.
Considering the weather, the IMD has issued an orange alert (meaning 'be prepared') for Vidarbha from Thursday to Friday. Meanwhile, a yellow watch (meaning 'be updated') will be in effect for Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada until Friday, and for Marathwada and Vidarbha from Saturday to Monday.
While some areas continue to experience shortages, Maharashtra has received the normal amount of precipitation it usually receives during this period, totaling 7.9 mm between April 1 and 10.
