Amrit Bharat Express Train Launches New Route: Saharsa To Mumbai In Just 34 Hours

The second Amrit Bharat Express train of Bihar is all set to begin service from Saharsa to Mumbai's Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, providing a new travel option for passengers. As reported by Times Now earlier, this train was planned to run from Saharsa to Amritsar via Delhi. However, Indian Railways has now changed the route to run directly from Saharsa to Mumbai.

According to a report by Hindustan Live, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch this train virtually on April 24, during a special event in Madhubani district. During this event, the Prime Minister will also launch four new trains in Bihar, including the state's first Vande Metro, also known as the Namo Bharat train.

Amrit Bharat Express Train: New Route And Timings

The new Amrit Bharat Express will begin its journey from Saharsa at 5:00 am and reach Lokmanya Tilak Terminus in Mumbai at 3:00 pm the following day, completing the journey in about 34 hours. Currently, the Humsafar Express on this route takes around 35.5 hours, so the Amrit Bharat train will be slightly faster.

The train will run through the following stations:

  • Hasanpur
  • Samastipur
  • Muzaffarpur
  • Pataliputra (Patna)
  • Danapur
  • Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction (DDU)
  • Itarsi
  • Bhusaval
  • Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Mumbai

The return journey schedule from Mumbai to Saharsa has not yet been announced.

Amrit Bharat Express Train: Update

At present, the train is expected to run once a week, as only one rake (set of train coaches) has been allocated to the Samastipur Railway Division. This rake will travel from Saharsa to Mumbai and return. Once another rake is made available, the number of trips may increase.

Amrit Bharat Express Train: Composition

The Amrit Bharat Express between Saharsa and Mumbai will have a total of 22 coaches. It includes sleeper and general coaches, and is designed with two engines, one at the front and one at the rear, to ensure better speed and stability.

This new service aims to provide a faster and more comfortable travel option between North Bihar and Mumbai, and is expected to benefit thousands of passengers who frequently travel on this route.
