Actress Noor Malabika Das Found Dead In Her Mumbai Apartment, Suicide Suspected

What might come of as a tragic news for many, actress Noor Malabika Das, known for her roles in several web series including the legal drama 'The Trial', where she starred alongside Kajol, was found dead today at her Mumbai apartment.

Das, a former air hostess with Qatar Airways, hailed from Assam and was residing in Lokhandwala.

Her body was discovered in a decomposed state in her apartment by the police, who were alerted by the neighbors due to foul smell emanating in the vicinity. The police had to forcefully enter her flat, where they found the 37-year-old's body.

An autopsy has been performed, and samples including medicines and mobile phones have been collected for the ongoing investigation.

Das' elderly parents, who had recently visited her in Mumbai and returned to Assam, were unable to travel back to the city. Hence, her friend and co-actor Aloknath Pathak cremated her body with the help of an NGO.

Meanwhile, the All Indian Cine Workers Association has urged Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis to order a detailed probe into the suspected suicide. The association said that the government should investigate the underlying factors contributing to the recurring tragedies within the film industry.
