Tulsi Vivah 2024: Wishes, Messages, Captions For A Blessed Celebration
The Tulasi Vivah, also known as Devutthana Ekadashi, is a significant Hindu festival. Celebrated over three days from 11th to 13th November 2024, it marks the ceremonial marriage of the Tulsi plant to Lord Vishnu. This festival is observed with great devotion and traditional rituals.
Tulasi Vivah holds immense religious importance. It commemorates the marriage of Lord Vishnu in his Shaligram form to Vrinda, who was reborn as the Tulsi plant. This event is celebrated on Prabodhini Ekadashi, marking the end of Lord Vishnu's four-month sleep after battling Asuras.

The story behind Tulasi Vivah involves Lord Vishnu and Vrinda, the wife of demon king Jalandhar. To defeat Jalandhar, Vishnu tricked him, leading to Vrinda's curse turning Vishnu into a stone. This stone form is known as Shaligram. Vrinda later became Sati, and from her ashes, the Tulsi plant was born.
How Tulasi Vivah is Celebrated
On Tulasi Vivah, devotees wrap the Tulsi plant in a red saree or cloth. The branches are adorned with red bangles. Prayers are offered to Lord Ganesha and other deities before starting the rituals. A coconut and a coin are placed near the plant, and Lord Shaligram's idol is taken around the Tulsi plant seven times.
Key Rituals of Tulasi Vivah
The rituals of Tulasi Vivah resemble those of a Hindu marriage. Devotees chant "तुलस्यै नमः" during a small aarti performed for Goddess Tulsi and Lord Shaligram. These rituals are believed to bring blessings and remove obstacles in marriage.
Attire and Food During Tulasi Vivah
Participants wear traditional attire during Tulasi Vivah celebrations. The food prepared is Satvik, adhering to religious dietary customs. This includes dishes that are pure and vegetarian, aligning with the spiritual essence of the festival.
