Gobi Bhagi: A Traditional Sindhi Spiced Cauliflower Stew Recipe
Gobi Bhagi, also known as Spiced Cauliflower Stew, is a delightful dish from Sindhi cuisine. This recipe combines cauliflower with aromatic spices to create a flavourful stew. It is perfect for those who enjoy a bit of spice in their meals. The dish is simple to prepare and pairs well with chapati, naan, or pulao.
- 300 g cauliflower
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 100-150 g finely chopped onions
- 4-5 average-sized tomatoes, chopped
- 3-4 pieces finely chopped green chiles
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped ginger
- 1 tablespoon red chile powder
- 1 tablespoon garam masala
- 1 tablespoon pepper
- Salt to taste
- Finely chopped coriander leaves for garnish

- Frying pan
- Pressure cooker
- Knife and chopping board
- Spoon for stirring
Procedure

Boil the cauliflower in hot water for about 5 minutes. Drain the water and cut the cauliflower into large pieces.

Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan. Add the chopped onions and tomatoes. Fry until the tomatoes release their oil.

Add the cauliflower pieces, green chiles, ginger, and red chile powder. Pour in some water and pressure cook for 6-7 minutes.

Stir in garam masala, pepper, and salt according to your taste.

Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with chapati, naan, or pulao.
