Ginger Peach Glazed Ham Recipe: A Festive Delight for Any Occasion
The Ginger Peach Glazed Ham is a delightful dish that combines the sweetness of peaches with the savoury taste of ham. This recipe is perfect for special occasions or family gatherings. The combination of peach nectar, honey, and fresh ginger creates a unique glaze that enhances the flavour of the ham. - 1 city-style (brined) ham, hock end
- 3 cups peach nectar
- ¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 5-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled
- ¾ cup honey
- 6 peaches, peeled and sliced
- 5 bay leaves

- Roasting pan
- Paring knife
- Aluminium foil
- Oven-safe probe thermometer
- Saucepan
Procedure
- Place the sliced peaches in a single layer on the bottom of a roasting pan. Set aside.
- Score the skin and fat layers of the ham in a diamond pattern using a paring knife. Place the ham on top of the peach slices.
- Cover the ham with aluminium foil. Insert an oven-safe probe thermometer into the centre of the ham, ensuring it does not touch the bone.
- Bake at 250°F until the internal temperature reaches 130°F.
- Meanwhile, combine peach nectar, Worcestershire sauce, chicken broth, ginger, honey, and bay leaves in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil over high heat until reduced by one-third. Remove ginger and bay leaves and set aside.
- Remove the skin and fat layers from the ham. Pour the peach mixture into the pan and toss the ham to coat it well. Remove aluminium foil and thermometer.
- Reinsert thermometer into a different area of the ham and bake at 350°F until internal temperature reaches 140°F. Remove from oven and let rest for half an hour before carving.
