- ¼ pint (150 ml) water
- Squeeze of lemon juice

Procedure
- Peel and core the apples. Slice them and place in a saucepan with the water.

- Butter a deep baking dish. Spread breadcrumbs around it so they stick to the bottom and sides, keeping some for the top.
