Kolkata Law College Gangrape: Accused Drank Alcohol At Crime Scene After Assault, Say Police
Kolkata Police have confirmed that the three main accused in the South Calcutta Law College gangrape case consumed alcohol at the scene following the assault. Investigators revealed that after committing the gangrape on June 25, the accused-Monojit Mishra, Pramit Mukherjee, and Zaib Ahmed-remained at the college premises for several hours, drinking inside the guard room.
Before leaving the college, the trio reportedly threatened the security guard, Pinaki Banerjee, instructing him to stay silent about the incident. They then went to a dhaba along the EM Bypass for dinner and returned to their respective homes the following morning.

According to the police, the crime appears to have been premeditated. Call detail records show that the accused were in frequent contact in the days preceding the assault, pointing to a planned execution. Authorities are also investigating the accused's post-crime conduct, including alleged efforts to seek protection through influential contacts and attempts to suppress evidence.
The college security guard, Pinaki Banerjee, has been arrested for not reporting the crime and for allegedly assisting the accused. The incident has sparked widespread outrage across the city and prompted Kolkata Police to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to handle the case.
