Kolkata Gang Rape Case: Monojit Mishra Among Four Taken To Kolkata College For Crime Scene Reconstruct
In a significant development in the investigation into the alleged gang rape of a 24-year-old law student, the Kolkata Police on Friday conducted a detailed crime scene reconstruction at South Calcutta Law College. All four arrested individuals were brought to the location to recreate the sequence of events.
The police team arrived at the college around 4:30 am, accompanied by the accused Monojit Mishra, an alumnus and contractual staff member, Pramit Mukherjee and Zaib Ahmed, both current students, and Pinaki Banerjee, the college security guard. The reconstruction exercise lasted nearly four hours, wrapping up by mid-morning.

"This reconstruction is a vital part of our investigation," a senior police officer said. "We will now cross-reference findings from the scene with the survivor's statement and other collected evidence."
Allegations and Case Background
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the first-year law student was allegedly raped by Monojit Mishra, aided by the two students, on the evening of June 25. The incident reportedly lasted over three hours and occurred at multiple spots on campus, including the college guard's room.
The guard Pinaki Banerjee is accused of negligence for failing to act or intervene during the incident. His police custody ends on July 4, after which he will be produced before the court.
Investigation Progress
Officials have confirmed that medical examination results and circumstantial evidence support the survivor's version of events. The case is being handled by the Detective Department of Kolkata Police, which is overseeing the investigation.
Authorities emphasized that all collected data including the reconstruction, forensic findings, and the survivor's testimony will be thoroughly verified and cross-checked for accuracy.
The incident has triggered public outrage and drawn sharp attention to security lapses and accountability issues within Kolkata's educational institutions.
