Kolkata:Ragging leads to student's death
Kolkata, Sept 12: Police lathi charged on angry protestors while they were rampaging the campus and classrooms of Christ Church School on the outskirts of Kolkata on Thursday after the death of a student on Wednesday, just few days after she was allegedly harassed by her seniors, reported India Today.

Principal said she was looking into the matter

The 11-year-old victim girl's angry parents barged into the principal's room along with several others, breaking the school doors and damaging the school properties. They literally ransacked some classrooms of the all-girls school.

The relatives of the victim even attack the principal of the school.

According to the mother of the class five student Oindrilla Das, the girl had been asked to pay Rs.100 by some of her seniors last week. She alleged that when her daughter refused to pay, she was locked in a toilet room of the school. The senior girls apparently forgot to set Das free as she had to spend nearly five hours in the toilet.

Nine days after being bullied by her seniors, the traumatised girl died in a local hospital on Wednesday.

The school principal told Headlines Today that she was looking into the matter.

No FIR was registered in connection with the incident yet.
