Timeline of Karnataka political crisis; How it began and how BSY became CM
New Delhi, July 31: BS Yediyurappa on July 26 took oath as the chief minister of Karnataka for the fourth time. This came a day after Karnataka Assembly speaker KR Ramesh Kumar disqualified three rebel Congress MLAs under the anti-defection law.
The 14-month-old Congress-JDS coalition government headed by Kumaraswamy collapsed on Tuesday after losing the vote of confidence in the Assembly in a climax to the three-week long intense power struggle.
On July 29, Yediyurappa moved the motion to prove that he enjoyed majority legislative support in the House. Yediyurappa took the floor test and emerged triumphant.
