Yuvanidhi Scheme Free for Unemployed Bajrang Dal Youths As Well: Congress Mocks
Shortly after Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced the rollout of its five guarantees, Congress mocked Bajrang Dal and BJP leaders that they can also avail benefits from its five schemes.
On Twitter, Karnataka Congress tagged state BJP Chief Naleen Kumar Kateel and former Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and said that 200 units of electricity are free for them as well. In the same post, it told BJP leader Shobha Karandlaje that she can travel across the state on state-run buses for free.

Also, Karnataka Congress tagged BJP leader CT Ravi saying that his family would get Rs 2000 under the 'Gruha Lakshmi' scheme. Last but not least, the party mocked Bajrang Dal saying that the unemployed youths from the Hindu organisation too can get benefits of the Yuvanidhi scheme. However, they should be graduate holders.
In the manifesto, Congress had promised 200 units of free electricity under the Gruha Jyothi scheme, 10 kg rice free of cost to every Below Poverty Line (BPL) family, a monthly cash assistance of Rs 2,000 under the Gruha Lakshmi scheme to every woman head of household, Rs 3,000 to unemployed graduates and Rs 1,500 to unemployed diploma holders every month for two years under the Yuva Nidhi scheme and free travel for women in public buses in Karnataka.
However, there were protests in some parts of Karnataka demanding the speedy implementation of five guarantees. The BJP and JDS too warned the Congress to keep their promises to the people.
"In the cabinet meeting held today, we discussed all five promises thoroughly. Congress government is committed to its poll promises and we have decided that all five guarantees will be implemented in the present financial year," said Siddaramaiah after the cabinet meeting.
"We announced these 5 guarantees before elections. Our party state chief DK Shivakumar and I signed the guarantee cards and promised that we will implement all promises and make sure they reach people. We also distributed guarantee cards," he added.
In the recently-held elections, Congress bagged 135 seats in 224-member Assembly.
