YouTuber Nalini Unagar's Journey Ends In Disappointment—But Her Story's Not Over Yet
Indian YouTuber Nalini Unagar has decided to quit her cooking channel, Nalini's Kitchen Recipe, after three years of hard work and an investment of Rs 8 lakh. Despite creating over 250 videos, her channel managed to gather only 2,450 subscribers, and she received no returns on her efforts. In response, she deleted all of her content and sold her kitchen and studio equipment.
Unagar expressed her frustration on social media, saying, "I'm honestly angry with YouTube. I spent my money, my time, and even risked my career to build my channel, but in return, YouTube gave me nothing."
Her decision to quit YouTube has since been covered by various media outlets and social media platforms. Unagar shared a screenshot of the coverage on X (formerly Twitter), adding her own thoughts: "When you fail, fail in such a way that even failure feels like success."
The post quickly gained attention, with many users offering support and sharing their thoughts. Some pointed out that her decision to leave YouTube had led to an increase in her popularity. Others encouraged her to not give up, suggesting that she should try again in the face of setbacks. Some users also highlighted the lesson her experience offers to other content creators who depend on platforms like YouTube.
One user commented, "You became famous now...but maybe this case will now be an eye opener for many people before starting new things. Hope you also gain success in your career ahead whatever you choose to do." Another said, "Don't let others decide where you failed. I say it's a great success for you!"
A third wrote, "Things will change for sure. Sometimes things happen for a reason and good things are coming for you." A fourth user added, "This story of failure turned you into a success. Amazing."
Others encouraged Unagar to take a break and restart her channel. "Failure should not be a stopper; it's one step closer to success," said one supporter. "I hope you choose this positive path and start again. Best of luck!"
Unagar, who began her YouTube journey in 2021, is a self-identified "food enthusiast" and has over 26,000 followers on Instagram. Her Instagram bio reads: "Food enthusiast sharing delicious food photos. Discussing social issues, politics, women's empowerment, and animal cruelty. Join the conversation!"
