Youth beaten to death on suspicion of black magic

Ranchi, Nov 4: A youth suspected of practicing black magic on a girl was beaten to death in Jharkhand's Garwah district on Wednesday, police said.

According to police, a girl of a village under Basia police station was suffering from some disease.

The family of the girl suspected black magic by the youth who was dragged out of his house and beaten to death on Wednesday, the police said.

Earlier on Sunday, four people of a family including two women were hacked to death by two people in Seraikela and Kharsawa district.

More than 500 people, the majority of them women, have been killed in Jharkhand after being branded as witches since the formation of the state in Nov 2000.
