22-Year-Old Commits Suicide After Mobile Gaming Debts Spiral Out of Control
A 22-year-old man, Srinivasa Nayak alias Lincon, allegedly took his own life after failing to repay loans he had borrowed due to significant losses incurred from mobile gaming. The incident occurred on Sunday night in Kadubani village, under the jurisdiction of the Kaliapani police station, according to police reports.

Lincon, the only son of Brajabandhu Nayak, had dinner with his family before retiring to his bedroom. When he did not wake up the next morning, his worried family members knocked on his door. After receiving no response, they broke open the door and found him hanging from the ceiling.
Financial Struggles and Loan Pressure
Employed as a contract worker in a private mining company, Lincon had reportedly lost several lakhs of rupees while playing online games on his mobile phone. To cover these losses, he had taken loans from various self-help groups in his village through his mother. The mounting pressure from moneylenders to repay these debts is believed to have driven him to take this drastic step.
The police recovered Lincon's body and sent it for a post-mortem examination. They have registered an unnatural death case and initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances leading to his suicide. "We are investigating the case to ascertain the circumstances leading to the suicide of the youth. We are also examining his bank records, which may shed further light on the reasons behind his decision," said a senior police officer.
Investigation Underway
Authorities are thoroughly examining Lincon's financial records and bank statements to understand better what led him to this tragic decision. The investigation aims to uncover any additional factors that may have contributed to his financial distress and subsequent actions.
The incident highlights the severe impact of financial pressures and the dangers associated with online gaming addiction. It serves as a stark reminder of the need for awareness and support systems for individuals facing similar challenges.
The community is left in shock as they come to terms with the loss of a young life due to financial burdens and online gaming addiction. The police continue their investigation, hoping to provide some closure and understanding for Lincon's grieving family.
