Yogi Govt Issues Bakrid 2026 Rules: No Namaz Or Public Sacrifice On Roads; Here’s The 10-Point Guideline

As preparations for Bakrid 2026 begin across India, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued strict instructions to officials to ensure peaceful and orderly celebrations in the state.

During a high-level review meeting held on Sunday, the Chief Minister directed police officers, district magistrates and local authorities to remain alert during Eid al-Adha celebrations. The government has announced several rules related to prayers, animal sacrifice, cleanliness and security arrangements.

The administration said the aim is to maintain law and order, avoid public inconvenience and ensure that the festival is celebrated peacefully across Uttar Pradesh.

No Open-Air Namaz Or Sacrifice

One of the key instructions issued by CM Yogi is that Eid prayers should only take place inside mosque premises and designated Eidgahs. The government has clearly stated that namaz should not be offered on roads, public spaces or open grounds that may disrupt traffic or daily movement.

Officials have been told to ensure that roads are not blocked during prayers. In places where large crowds are expected, the Chief Minister suggested that prayers should be organised in multiple shifts to manage gatherings smoothly.

The government has also banned animal sacrifice in open public spaces. Authorities have been directed to make sure that sacrifices are carried out only at approved locations and according to legal guidelines.

Strict Ban On Sacrifice Of Prohibited Animals

CM Yogi also instructed officials to ensure that banned animals are not sacrificed during the festival. Local administrations and police departments have been asked to monitor markets and sensitive areas closely to prevent violations.

Officials have been warned to take immediate action if any illegal activity related to animal sacrifice is reported during Bakrid celebrations.

Focus On Cleanliness And Hygiene

The Uttar Pradesh government has also placed major focus on cleanliness during Eid al-Adha. The Chief Minister instructed civic bodies and municipal authorities to make proper sanitation arrangements in all districts.

Authorities have been told to ensure that waste generated after sacrifices is disposed of properly and that no unhygienic conditions are created in residential or public areas.
The administration said maintaining hygiene is important to avoid health problems and keep local areas clean during the festival period.

Security Tightened Across Sensitive Areas

To prevent any disturbance during the celebrations, CM Yogi ordered police officials to stay on high alert across the state. Extra police personnel will be deployed at Eidgahs, mosques and sensitive locations.

The Chief Minister also directed authorities to keep a close watch on troublemakers and anti-social elements who may try to disturb peace during the festival.

In addition, surveillance through CCTV cameras and drones will be increased in sensitive areas to improve monitoring and security arrangements.
