Yogi Adityanath Conducts Roadshow in Kanpur and Ghaziabad to Support BJP Candidates Ahead of Bypolls

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath led a roadshow on Saturday to support Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates in Kanpur's Sisamau assembly constituency and Ghaziabad. The event in Kanpur was heavily guarded, with over 200 police officers stationed on rooftops along the route. Paramilitary forces were also involved to ensure security.

Adityanaths Roadshow in Kanpur and Ghaziabad

The roadshow in Kanpur began at Bajaria and concluded at Sangeet Talkies, passing through Rambagh, Harshaya College, Niranjan Niwas, Gopal Talkies, Central Bank Square, Vijay Tower, Lenin Park, Jwaladevi, and Anand Bagh. Approximately 500 women participated in the rally, including Kanpur Mayor Pramila Pandey. Adityanath arrived by helicopter at ITI College's helipad in Pandu Nagar before leading the rally from Rambagh Tiraha in Bajaria for BJP candidate Suresh Awasthi.

Security Measures and Public Participation

The roadshow lasted over an hour and was marked by chants of "Long live Modi-Yogi." Throughout the journey, flower petals were showered on Adityanath. During the event, local markets remained closed. The Chief Minister urged voters to remember the Ram temple and BJP's lotus symbol when casting their votes for the bypoll on November 20.

This visit marked Adityanath's second appearance in Kanpur within the month. Earlier, on November 9, he addressed a public gathering at Darshan Purwa Central Park. Later that day, he conducted another roadshow in Ghaziabad for BJP candidate Sanjeev Sharma in Vijaynagar. He rode in an open saffron-coloured vehicle alongside BJP MP Atul Garg and candidate Sanjeev Sharma.

Chants and Symbolism

The route in Ghaziabad resonated with chants of "Yogi-Yogi" and "Bulldozer Baba." Saffron balloons floated above while flags bearing the lotus symbol waved throughout the procession. Voting for the by-elections in Sisamau and Ghaziabad is scheduled for November 20, with vote counting set for November 23.
