Yoga Is Humanity’s Pause Button: PM Modi In Visakhapatnam

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday joined a massive International Yoga Day event along a scenic 26-km stretch from Visakhapatnam's RK Beach to Bhogapuram, where over 300,000 participants performed yoga simultaneously.

What PM Modi Said?

Addressing the 11th International Yoga Day, PM Modi reflected on yoga's unifying power, saying, "Yoga simply means to connect, and it is wonderful to see how it has brought the world together." Recalling the historic UN declaration of June 21 as International Yoga Day in 2014, he noted, *"When India proposed this day, 175 nations supported us in record time-a rare global consensus. This was not just about a resolution but a collective commitment to humanity's well-being."

Highlighting yoga's universal appeal, he added, "Today, yoga transcends all boundaries-from our Divyang friends reading Yoga Shastras in Braille to astronauts practicing in space, from village youth in Yoga Olympiads to naval personnel on ships. Whether at the Sydney Opera House, Mount Everest, or the vast oceans, the message is clear: yoga is for everyone, everywhere."
'Yoga for One Earth, One Health'

This year's theme, 'Yoga for One Earth, One Health,' emphasizes interconnected well-being. "Human health depends on the soil, rivers, animals, and plants around us," PM Modi said. *"Yoga awakens us to this harmony, guiding us from self-care to planetary care-from 'Me' to 'We.' This philosophy aligns with India's ancient wisdom: 'सर्वे भवन्तु सुखिनः' (May all be happy)."

A Call for Global Peace Through Yoga

Amid global tensions, PM Modi urged, "Yoga is humanity's pause button-a path to balance and peace." Proposing 'Yoga for Humanity 2.0,' he called for yoga to evolve into a global movement: "Let inner peace become global policy. Let nations integrate yoga into public health and lifestyle, fostering a sustainable, harmonious world-from conflict to cooperation, tension to solution."

On his turn, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said Modi made Yoga popular not only in India but across the world, turning it into a global wellness movement.
