Yo Yo Honey Singh to rap for INLD candidate in Haryana polls
Chandigarh, Oct 6: Election is around the corner and parties have already started roping in celebrities for campaign.
Om Prakash Chautala has been chief minister of Haryana four times; his last term ended in 2005. Now, ahead of the state's election on the 15th of this month, Chautala, 79, has someone rooting - or rather rapping - for him.
Eyeing a comeback after a decade in the state, Indian National Lok Dal released a music video featuring Honey Singh. In the music video, Singh sings in Haryanvi language, seeking votes for the party, "Yo-Yo gailay nachega, Tau ki maati ka yo gana charon or bajega, Yo Yo gailay tum bhi gao.."
Yo Yo Honey Singh, the popular singer who's been trending in Bollywood for a while, in a music video, extends his support to Mr Chautala, who is on bail to campaign for the election after being jailed in a corruption case one and a half years ago.
Mr Singh, age 31, and crafter of hits like Lungi Dance and Party All Night, was co-opted for Mr Chautala's campaign by his grandson, Karan Chautala, youth party leader.
"He is like an elder brother to me," 22-year-old Karan said.
