X Down in India and Other Countries? Twitter Users Face Login, App, Feed Issues Globally; How To Fix It

Users across several countries reported that X, formerly known as Twitter, appeared to be down on Thursday morning, with thousands facing access issues.

Outage-tracking platform Downdetector logged more than 5,400 complaints at the peak around early morning IST, indicating a widespread disruption. The number of reports later dropped to around 2,700-2,800 as services appeared to stabilise for some users.

Users Report Login, App and Feed Problems

Many users said the app failed to refresh, timelines were not loading and the website version showed errors. According to Downdetector data, a large share of complaints were linked to the app, while others flagged issues with the feed and website access.

Several users also pointed out that the outage appeared to be fluctuating, with the platform going down briefly before returning for some.

Social Media Flooded With Reactions

With Elon Musk yet to comment, users turned to other platforms to react to the outage.

One user wrote, "why elon," while another joked about the timing, saying it was "WrestleMania 42 weekend." Others posted messages like "Twitter down???" and "Twitter went down and felt like 2024."

Some users described the outage as short-lived. "Twitter was down for a hot minute for me. If you saw my tweet get posted like 5 times, blame Elon Musk," one post read, while another added, "Oh god, did Twitter shut down for a few minutes? lmao."

At the time of writing, X had not issued any official statement explaining the cause of the outage. The disruption appeared to affect users across multiple regions, with outage maps showing activity in major cities including Seattle and New York.

Similar Issues Reported Earlier

The platform had faced technical issues earlier this week as well, with users reporting problems in loading posts and accessing feeds. The repeated outages have raised concerns among regular users about reliability.

What Users Can Do

For access issues, users can try basic troubleshooting steps such as checking their internet connection, updating the app or clearing cache. However, given the widespread nature of the current outage, the issue appears to be on the company's side.

As a result, user-side fixes may have limited impact until the platform stabilises fully.
